The above picture is of the bolt before any alterations. The bolt was placed in a vise, with wooden blocks, not to damage the bolt, in anyway. You can see the mark where the bolt handle was cut off. I then uses a piece of stell rod close to the same diameter of the handle. I welded the steel rod to the bolt and welded the handle knob back on. I placed wet rags inside of the bolt body and around the bolt body to try and dissipate some of the heat. Then I placed the barreled action back into the stock. After the bolt cooled, I placed the bolt into the action, to see if any adjustments were needed to be made to the handle. It was perfect the first try. No other aterations were needed, except to file and polish the welds.
After the bolt was done, I decided to place a notch in the butt stock, for comfort. I used a hacksaw to cut the notch and then a round rasp file to finish it up. Below are a couple of pictures.
