Mosin Trigger Adjustment

All that is involved is putting in a setscrew to give the bolt stop spring some relief. It is like partially pulling the trigger. The size of the setscrew isn't critical, but it should be about ¼' long. I just rounded one up down in my garage and ground the length to fit. You need to use a center punch for the hole and use the proper drill bit and tap. This is easy enough, but take your time. If you screw up, remember it's the receiver. I got the idea from Boris, and have done several with a minimum amount of tools. I'm no machinist. When the setscrew is in place, then you can adjust the trigger pull with a hex wrench. It takes awhile for everything to settle in, so check to make sure the rifle won't accidentally fire. Be safe. When you are satisfied that the pull is consistent, glue or stake the setscrew in place. It is possible for it to move due to recoil, otherwise. The change to that hard to pull trigger will be apparent. The feel will be more like a commercial hunting rifle trigger. Good luck, and have fun. Win
